In the old days, I’d download anything that was free, just to give it a whirl. I still love to experiment, so of course, I had to try SlideShare, the “YouTube of PowerPoint.” I uploaded a PowerPoint file. SlideShare rapidly converted it to Shockwave and made it available.
Then I embedded it in my WordPress blog. It trashed the margins on every post. I fiddled with it, surrounding the SlideShare object with various tags. No go. So I won’t be using SlideShare until I hear back from their support staff. Also, without sound, SlideShare lacks the oomph required for most learning.

Jay,
I am Amit from the Slideshare team.
If the blog embed is crashing out of your blog’s column width, you will have to resize it. You can change the height/width values of the embed in the code; its a 10 second tweak. This post explains how to do it ( Resize the embedded slideshow on your blog)

We are likely to support sound from the next release, so stay tuned for that.
