I love the web. If something’s askew, you can get in touch and get it fixed. This rarely happened in the days you had to mail in complaints via snail mail.
Post before last, I mentioned having trouble with SlideShare, the new YouTube of PowerPoints.
SlideShare’s Amit Ranjan emailed me:
We tried to troubleshoot the problem.
Just to recreate the problem at out end, I have taken the liberty of cashing the HTML from your blog and inserting the embed code into it. It seems to work for us. I am forwarding the HTML in the attached zip file. Check it out. I used the ‘div’ tag to center align the player.
In case the problem still persists, please let us know what tags you trying to use. Also if it not too much of an imposition, could you send across a screenshot of the messed up blog. That would really help.
Now we’re going to try this live. I’m going to insert Amit’s code below. I have my fingers crossed.
Great! It works. Now I’m going to have to go back to find any differences between Amit’s code and mine.
Ah, ha! My problem was not enclosing the SlideShare object in div tags. (Amit, put the div tags in the HTML you show for insertion.)
Now I’m happy on two counts. I appreciate a company that responds immediately. (I didn’t write them; they found me.) And I have a new tool to play with on my sites. I’m going to post the SlideShare object in a new post.

I was just testing SlideShare in the last couple of days. Nice to know it’s on your radar sceen too. Knowing they are so responsive in addressing user issues is a real plus. Now I’m just waiting for the appropriate posting for trying it out.
