Welcome to the Bazaar.

The name is a reference to Eric Raymond’s The Cathedral and the Bazaar, the manifesto of open software development. It’s a fitting name for a site that “is a community portal for people who want to use, exchange and share Open Source Software and resources to support learning.”

Graham Attwell is a very Welsh learning researcher, nerd, blogger, and open source evangelist. We share similar viewpoints on learning. He has a “stall” on the Bazarr site.

pontydysgu_logo.gifHold it! Did I say very Welsh? You’ll know what I mean when you hear his voice on the podcast below. Furthermore, his organization is named Pontydysgu, which his site translates as “the bridge to learning,” but really has something to do with sheep.

Graham is producing a series of podcasts of people who will be presenting at Online Educa in Berlin two weeks hence. Graham and I recently talked for half an hour about informal learning. Here’s an edited recording:
