Reminiscence reinforces the brain’s neural pathways, thereby improving memory. (Neurons that fire together, wire together.)

Science has yet to determine how much tweaking is required to slow the natural decay of memory. Recent findings suggest it’s not much.

The New York Times reported on a study which involved people committing things to memory in a rose-scented room. As they slept that night, half the group was exposed to the scent of roses; half slept in a sterile environment. The next day, those who slept with the roses remembered more! Subtle cue, eh?

I’ve been wondering about how much reinforcement a graphic can provide. Is a peek at a drawing enough to preserve memories?

Here are graphics I’ve used to explain things. Any of these bring back memoriesl?
